Hmm, looks like those rumours about Ryan Philippe cheating on Reese Witherspoon while they were still married — with his 'Stop Loss' co-star Abbie Cornish — may actually have been true. Or perhaps Philippe just figured that if he was going to have to suffer all the criticism he might as well have the fun...

Ryan's been spotted out with Cornish and his two kids, Ava and Deacon, shopping for Christmas stuff in LA. "Ava seemed very comfortable with Abbie. Ava picked a wreath and Abbie put it around her head as a joke. They were both laughing," claims a source. "Abbie is a free spirit. She indulges a side of Ryan that he's kept under wraps for years."

Well, either they're really just friends, or it must be serious — if he's introducing her to the kids.

No-one serious for Lindsay Lohan, it seems, after her very recent split with her rehab hook-up Riley Giles. Not that she's been idle since the split — nope, she's already been linked to her and Paris Hilton's mutual ex-boyfriend, as well as Michelle Williams' ex-husband Heath Ledger.

First of Li-Lo's rumoured new men is Stavros Niarchos, famous for nothing more than dating Paris and being the heir to a colossal Greek shipping fortune. Whether or not he really is getting it on with Lohan, word is that he definitely isn't interested in Hilton any more. Apparently, Paris tried to flirt with Niarchos at a recent Hollywood party and failed dismally, according to an onlooker, who says he "wanted nothing to do with her and seemed so annoyed by her, he left the party" — and reportedly headed off to hang with Lindsay.

The other guy rumoured to be hanging with Linds is Heath Ledger after they bumped into each other in a New York club. "Lindsay and Heath hit it off straight away," claims a source in Australia's NW mag. "When she left the club she started texting him straight away and they hooked up a few times while she was still in New York. They were meeting late at night for sex. It was purely physical." Ah, another magical celebrity Christmas season romance. It brings tears to your eyes.

Only tears of rage in Scarlett Johansson's eyes, after she read in America's Us Weekly that she'd had a nose job. Absolutely no way, fumes Scarlett.

The magazine quoted her as saying: "I definitely believe in plastic surgery. I don't want to be an old hag. There's no fun in that." But Johansson is not charmed by her inclusion in the mag's line-up of stars who've had work done. "I have always been straightforward with the press regarding my body image and I am very concerned that my fans — and perhaps even my employers — will feel misled. Thus, I feel compelled to take immediate legal action against Us Weekly."

Ja, it's hard being a star — just ask Uma Thurman, who's currently waiting to see what happens with a man accused of stalking her who even threatened to kill himself if she dated any other guy. Now he's looking at four years of prison if he's convicted.

Nicole Richie had a super-short stint in prison herself (82 minutes in total), but she's still got to complete those classes on how not to drink too much and, you know, drive the wrong way down a highway — though she's been let out for a while because she's just too heavily pregnant.

No special celeb treatment for Richie, though, her rep assures us: "Anyone who is pregnant or has medical issues can leave the class. It wasn't Nicole asking — she just showed up one day and the paparazzi were chasing her and she was exhausted. So the director of the programme was concerned for her and suggested she take a leave of absence." Given that she only began the course last month, Nic's still got most of that mandated year and half of classes still to do.
