| KATHY HOFMEYR Biography
After two gap years working in the London branch of an international investment bank, hobnobbing in the West End and generally making a public nuisance of herself, Kathy Hofmeyr returned to South Africa and began studying for a BA in English, Classics and Film, a degree which would qualify her to obtain other degrees, one of which she may actually be able to use someday. A devoted writer her entire life, Kathy was last interviewed at the age of sixteen when she composed and sang a prize-winning song on Gauteng’s Radio 702, and before that at age seven when she won a poetry competition intended for adults. Both endeavours were much easier than her latest undertaking: generally behaving like a grown-up. Kathy would like to be remembered as a best-selling author, a little-known blues singer and perhaps someone’s favourite aunt. Her greatest hope is that she can manage to keep writing forever without anyone realising how much fun it is and making her stop. She now lives in Jo'burg, where she fights her dogs for rights to the left-hand side of the bed. | ||
